rant?

i feel like i'm drifting away from this whole "furry" thing. i mean, i never considered myself a furry, i just loved drawing dogs but i hate being grouped into this sort of .. i dunno "desu dog" sort of thing. i mean, it's gotten pretty ridiculous. you look at popular artists' "fursonas" (fuck i hate that word so much, it's so creepy) and it's just everyone trying to be more and more original by adding ridiculous dog-hair, neon designs, arm-bands, piercings, one hundred tails. just weird shit. i mean, i'm not bashing on anyone in particular. i just think this whole thing has gotten pretty dumb. half the dogs people draw don't even look like dogs anymore, they look like alien-dog-hybrids from outer space. i still love drawing dogs and wolves and canines and whatever, but i hate that i get grouped into the category as the people above. i think it's embarassing.

i have no idea where i'm going with this. i still draw every day. drawing is my life. i do mostly traditional media and visual entries in my mokeskine. i will start to upload more art, but my art has taken a pretty different direction. sorry for being so inactive, i promise i'll try to comment more and upload more. :[

I wholeheartedly agree. :[

There are too many people in this...genre I guess, That take it to a whole new level of creepy. I love drawing dogs, but I feel awkward sharing that fact with people because everyone thinks I'm a crazy bastard who dresses up in fursuits and draws yiff or whatever.

It's a sad fact. :c

AMEN to this.

Sometimes I contemplate not uploading canine art altogether. I hate that I may be grouped in with the rest of the canine community, because it's actually very embarrassing. Humans are my main subject matter right now, as my gallery probably DOESN'T let on, and I'm a lot happier. I'll always draw canines and animals in general, but I feel like it's kind of time to grow up and move to bigger things to push myself as an artist. I drew dogs since before I even knew what the internet was, so it's definitely time to move on. It's not so much that i hate being associated with it anymore (and I still do, to an extent), it's just that I feel I NEED to move on.

And haha, I thought I was the only one that hated the word 'fursona'.

Glad to see you back.

Failsauce to alien dogs. I've always liked your dogs though. They've had great style and quality. :>

Ugh, agreed.

I've been around since before the whole 'desu dog' thing started, and I kind of grew up with it. But since I've been trying to branch off and draw other things, or just simplify my canines to not have all that kawaii hair and piercings. Lol one thing you don't see often is a 'normal dog'.

O GAD I hate that word too -.-
It just sounds so...idk. I really don't want to use that word but there's no other way to describe my -cough- fursona...I mean ';persona', or 'avatar' sound gay.
